K N O C K O U T

If you're anything like me, you like  love to eat and working out is not your favorite activity. Okay I love being active I just can't manage to make it to the gym like some people can. I am a lover of food but as much as I do I know I should love fitness to stay well proportioned LOL Read more on what I've been doing to get the same effect of working out at the gym.

Lately I've been incorporating some of my favorite ways of getting exercise into my weekly schedule. The gym is not for me but it doesn't have to be, running on a treadmill is not my favorite thing. For as adventurous I am and the selective short attention span I have it doesn't keep me engaged. So in come Muay Thai boxing !!! Amazingness for your body, mind, and confidence. I started doing Muay Thai Boxing last year with my dearest boyfriend. Before beginning he conditions me in increasing my stamina and upper arm and core strength build up. Once we finish that's when the fun boxing combos come!

TOP 4 BENEFITS OF MUAY THAI BOXING

  • Core strength is a huge benefit from Thai boxing, the arm movements and leg movements involved in the boxing all derive from your core. Rotational movements are done throughout the whole time which helps tighten all muscles around the core area not just your abdominal muscles (even though those are the most important to us all)
  • Upper body strength happens to be my favorite take away because I happen to have no upper body strength but since I've been boxing, my tolerance is definitely increasing. Not only do you gain muscles in your arms but you also gain strength from keep your arms up high to protect your face from punches.
  • Leg strength from kicking and footwork. In Muay Thai there is a lot of kicking incorporated throughout fighting. These kicks vary from aiming as high as the opponents head or just lower side, either way they are a great powerhouse movement.
  • Stress relief can be reduced greatly from Thai boxing. This sport engages every part of the body throughout practicing it. The sport enforces the person to focus not only your body but your mind as well otherwise the attention needed to perform will not allow the full benefits to be gained.

Summer is here which means amazing food, drinks, and adventures. In order to make sure I am doing everything in moderation another one of my favorite activities is hiking. Hiking has many benefits and most the time it is free as well. Let me tell you a little more about It below.

TOP 4 BENEFITS OF HIKING

  • Tones most important areas, while walking, inclined, and climbing over rocks hiking targets all parts of your body. Moving at your own pace still allows for the body to obtain the necessary movement it doesn't necessarily get from day to day.
  • Connection to nature is one of my top favorite benefits. I may sounds like a hippie here but I honestly believe the fresh air, the wild life around, the nice gorgeous views, and the sounds of nature help motivate  you to finish your hike and makes you want to hike again. It is important to disconnect yourself from the city life sometimes and just view if from above for a while.
  • Tones lower legs yes I am talking about your calves! Hiking tones your calves, and thighs while on inclines. Try running small sections to get a bigger benefit.
  • Improves sleeping patterns due to the expose to the sun and the amount of work your body is doing. Have you ever been at the beach all day and the aftermath is wanting to take a shower and sleep? Well that's about the same outcome minus the ocean lol Hiking will help you improve your health and sleeping.

Try getting  out there and find different ways of staying in shape. Also find a work out buddy who is just a serous as you. Pictures above is my dear friend Angela who has made an appearance on the blog before. She enjoys doing pilates as her form of daily activity.

Thanks for stopping by!
